چکیده

In this paper, we report a requirements analysis of police work that has been conducted with a view to developing personal technology for police officers. The analysis involved observations, critical incident interviews and a questionnaire study. The paper shows how information from these techniques has been used to develop a design space for possible technologies. A significant problem is the translation of requirements into a design space, and selection of design options within this space. An initial attempt at coping with this problem is introduced, through the AIM methodology. On the basis of this work, three prototypes were developed and these are discussed in the paper.
